Executive Car of the Year: Winner

New day, new category winner. It’s big executive time. Big, elegant, comfortable cars for people with loads of cash who would rather sit in the back and let someone else drive them around. Space, comfort, gadgets rank high but style and other features are not left behind. If you would think the Germans would sweep this prize away, you’d be wrong. In fact, we have an all-Italian lineup.

And the winner is:

Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S

The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S is a stunning executive car. We were impressed with the way it looks, the way it sounds, the speed of the thing and again the way it looks. It is one of the coolest executive cars ever and it goes like a supercar when you want it to. Even tough rivals from Germany might go faster or ride better, they just cannot rival the presence of the standard Quattroporte. In the new  Sport GT S trim, the Maserati will intimidate all of them

Runner Up: Alfa Romeo 159

The 159 Alfa is eligible for this category as it was improved in 2009. If anything, the Alfa is even more beautiful than the Maserati. Yes, it is not as comfortable and yes it is not as fast and it isn’t as big as well. This is more like a small executive saloon for people who actually care about cars. If you have one of these, you will certainly drive it yourself. Now click the photo above and drool at Alfa Romeo’s photo art.
