2012 Nissan GT-R improves over outgoing model’s Nurburgring lap time by 2.48 seconds

The updated 2012 Nissan GT-R has been clocked around the Nurburgring with a lap time of 7 minutes and 24.22 seconds, an improvement of 2.48 seconds over the outgoing model.

The time improvement is no surprise however, as this new model receives more power, better aerodynamics, retuned suspension, and uprated brakes.’

That time beats out numerous exotic cars, including the Porsche Carerra GT, Maserati MC12, and Pagani Zonda F, all for a fraction of the price. Have a look at the blistering lap in the video below. The actual driving doesn’t start until 3:10, but you might be interested in listening to chief designer Kazutoshi Mizuno’s speech first if you understand Japanese.
