A wealthy Italian industrialist named Gian Mario Rossingnolo has bought De Tomaso, and is planning to revive the famous marque.
He has previous experience with car companies, as he was once the CEO of Lancia. A a Pininfarina factory has already been purchased for the construction of De Tomaso’s new cars.
The plan is to build 8,000 aluminum-bodied cars per year. They will be prestige cars. He is planning a luxury sedan, a coupe and an SUV. They will make an appearance at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
Sounds like an ambitious plan. Hopefully there will be a supercar among the lineup, a successor to the great Pantera.
