The Ford Transit has been the best-selling van in the UK for 45 years now, and to celebrate, they’ve made a special edition SportVan.
The SportVan is based on the short-wheelbase 260 model, which has a 138 hp 2.2L diesel sending power to the front wheels.
As the name suggests, the changes have focused on making the van look sporty. This includes a Colorado Red paint job with white racing stripes, twin exhaust tips and 18-inch graphite colour alloys wrapped in low profile tires. Moreover, Ford has thrown in side skirts, front and rear lower spoilers, and extended wheel arches.
If you want one, there are a couple issues. Firstly, it will in all likeliness only be available in the UK. Secondly, just 100 will be made. Lastly, you’ll have to come up with £22,630, and given the rate previous SportVans sold out at, you’ll have to come up with it fast.

Ford of Britain’s marketing director, Mark Simpson, said: “We know that ‘white van man’ is image conscious both personally and for his business. The SportVan is a real head-turner as well as a reliable workhorse and that’s why they sell out so fast.”
The Transit SportVan is based on the popular 260, short wheelbase model with front wheel drive, the 140PS 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine and a six-speed transmission. The red SportVan will be the first medium van to come with DAB radio as standard.

Power deadlocks, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, front fog lights and a load area protection kit similarly come on every SportVan. Optional are leather seats, Satellite Navigation FX system with 5in colour screen, LED cargo lights in rear and LED daytime running lights.
