Ferrari may be working on a road-going, non-experimental edition of the 599XX called the 599 GTO, in honour of the legendary 250 GTO.
This car would be to the 599 GTB Fiorano like the 430 Scuderia is to the F430, a sort of track-ready monster, but still road-legal.
Reportedly, it will get an uprated version of the V12 engine, several weight saving mods and some aerodynamic tweaks. The V12 should be pumped up to between 680 and 700hp, and it should weigh about 150 pounds (Roughly 70kg) less than the standard 599. Visually, it should look a bit like the 599XX, but less extreme. Some of the aerodynamic aids from the 599XX will be used.
Production figures should hover around the 500 mark, and expect it to be revealed, if it’s true, at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show next March. I like the 599XX, and a road-going version would be interesting to see.
