Seriously, we’ve had like 3 in a row.
When you’re rich, it’s only natural you spend your absurd amounts of leftover money on expensive posh cars and supercars. However just what is going through the mind of folks like Peter Max who won 36 Corvettes, including a now extremely rare 1953 model, and then proceeded to leave them to rot in an underground car park. When they found them he proceeded to move them to another car park while making no intention of bothering to repair them.
Also, very recently, a man listed 12 Jaguar E-Types on eBay, all of which needed to be slightly restored. Then there’s the mechanic that has his backyard full of Cosworths, not to mention the now dead connoisseur that bought a Maserati Quattroporte, a Jensen Interceptor and a DeTomaso Longchamp amongst others, just to ditch them and roll around in a Nissan Patrol. For every car left abandoned in a garage, there’s a million people who want it, leaving those cars to rot in a barn or an underground car park should be punishable by law, of all of these finds there is only one that is worth mentioning.
A few weeks ago, the RS club found 2 mint BMW M3 E30s, with just delivery miles on them, as well as one of 200 Ford RS200s and a Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II. Unlike any of the examples listed above, these ones are actually in amazing condition and all that needs to be done to them is to replace all the parts that are dry and useless by now, put some gas, oil, water and coolant in, and fire them up. What I’m trying to say is, if you’re rich or you just won a rare, fast or expensive car but don’t want it, for Pete’s sake just sell it.
