The Detroit News reports that Saab will be setting up their North American HQ in the town of Royal Oak, Michigan.

The headquarters will be located at 4327 Delemere Court, between 14 Mile and Normandy. Saab closed the sale last month and employees will move in by the end of this month. The 13,000-square foot building was previously owned by Ronnisch Construction Co.

To encourage this move, the Michigan Economic Growth Authority approved a $1.2 million high-technology employment tax break over five years for Saab. 60 employees with an average wage of about $88,000 a year will be working at the HQ, and Saab expects that number to grow to 158 by 2014, which would boost state revenue by almost $2 million. The town of Royal Oak has also approved a personal property tax break worth about $29,000.
