Donto Motors, a small Argentina-based automaker no one’s ever heard of, is working on a competitor for the likes of the KTM X-Box and Ariel Atom, called the P1.
The car is powered by a Volkswagen-sourced 1.8L turbocharged inline-four, putting out 180 hp, although the powertrain has not yet been finalized. Not an awful lot, but considering that the car weighs 1,500 pounds, it should be enough. It’s also got a FIA-approved chassis, and split construction bodywork designed to look as if it’s floating on the chassis.
If the car makes it to production, it should cost around $55,000, and the car should be sold in Europe, the US, and even in its home country Argentina.
