Pictures of Saab’s new 9-4X have been leaked onto the internet ahead of its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
The pictures have been taken from Saabs United and appear to show a production ready model with a few design changes over the 2008 concept car of the same name.
The 9-4X, which is very important for Saab in North America where the market for crossover models is huge, is related to the new Cadillac SRX and will be built alongside it at GM’s Mexico factory.
The 9-4X will not be as big for Saab in Europe however, because it is likely to be offered with a 2.8L turbocharged V6 petrol engine only.
Saab insiders say that they are “working on a diesel solution” but it won’t be easy because Cadillac are unlikely to want a diesel engine for the SRX.
The Saab will not share anything, visually, with its Cadillac sibling. The 9-4X will have unique exterior styling and interior styling, with a dashboard very similar to that of the new 9-5.
The car is expected to go on sale in the US in the spring and in Europe late next year.
