BMW’s M division has released more info and teaser on the upcoming 1 Series M Coupe.
The car is being hailed as a modern-day E30 M3, and if the good old E30 is anything to go by, that means this should be fantastic.
Powering the 1 Series M Coupe will be a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six, developing 340 hp. With an expected weight of about 1500 kg, that sounds great. But it gets better. BMW will only offer it with a manual gearbox. Moreover, the chassis, brakes, and rear differential are similar to that of the cars big brother, the M3, which is a fantastic drive. The M Coupe also gets a widened stance, measuring at about 80 mm wider than the 135i.
Full details on the car will be revealed sometime in December, ahead of the car’s world debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for those.
