Jack Pitney, BMW North America’s Vice President of Marketing, has died in a “tragic accident” on vacation at his farm, at the age of 47. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues. A press release is available after the jump, but details are scarce at the moment.

First of all I want to wish all our readers a very, very nice Christmas. I hope you will have a very good time with your families tomorrow and lots of petrolhead gifts from Santa. All the best,
The Blog of Cars

I’d just like to wish everyone who, like me, lives in Canada a Happy Thanksgiving. The US has still got a month and a bit to go before Thanksgiving.
