Porsche has taken the new 911 Turbo to the “Green Hell” and managed to slash 10 seconds off the lap time of the old one, making the new lap time 7 minutes 39 seconds.

The problem is, it needs to beat Godzilla, the Nissan GT-R. That set a time of 7m 27.56sec the last time it went around the ‘Ring, meaning the Beetle in running shoes needs to find another 12 seconds somewhere. Now, there is the GT3 RS, and reports say that a Turbo S is in development, but I seriously doubt that they’ll be able to slash that time by a whole 12 seconds. These are the Germans though, so you never know what to expect.
