Most of you probably know about the big issue Toyota had recently with their floor mats jamming the accelerators. Well, Toyota may soon be recalling all the cars affected by this to make changes to the accelerators and fix the issue.
3.8 million cars have been affected by this, including the Camry, Avalon, Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Lexus IS250, IS350 and ES350. Negotiations between the NHSTA and Toyota are still ongoing, so details on what these changes are haven’t been released, nor have they announced when the recall will begin. It’s quite a big recall, but Toyota has a $5.6 billion slush fund to pay for recalls. However, it certainly won’t be cheap, and it’ll damage their image pretty badly, so they better not have any other recalls any time soon.
