The small Suzuki Swift will be available with 3 new trim levels beginning from January. Until then it will still be available with the normal GL and GLX trim specs but we will be getting the SZ2, SZ3 and SZ4 in 2010.
Customers will also be able to choose from 3 different engines: a 1.3-litre petrol, a 1.3-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre petrol. The thing I don’t understant tough is that the biggest (and probably best) engine – the 1.5 petrol is available only with an automatic gearbox. Why? If I were to buy a Swift I would love to get that engine but not with an automatic.
Prices for the new trim levels start at £9190 which is the same price as the current basic GL spec but they will have a higher VAT figure.
