Lexus has revealed official details of the hardcore Nurburgring edition of the LFA supercar, made to celebrate the firm’s participation in the upcoming 24 hour race.
Only 50 LFA Nurburgring’s will be produced. Power comes from the same 4.8L V10 as the standard car, but power is increased by 10bhp to 522bhp thanks to an updated ECU and a reworked exhaust system. A recalibrated transmission system has also been fitted, knocking up to 0.2 seconds off gear changes. However, both the 202mph top speed and the 0-62 time of 3.7 seconds remain the same. Moreover, the Nurburgring edition features stiffer suspension with greater adjustability and lighter alloy wheels shod with new semi-slick tyres.
Exterior changes include a large fixed rear wing in place of the retractable wing on the standard LFA, and a new front splitter. The four colour choices will be Black, Matte Black, Whitest White and Orange.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but buyers will receive a session of driving tuition and a 365 day pass to the Nordschleife.
