New York International Auto Show

Another auto show, another round of opinions from yours truly.

2011 Infiniti QX56 (Pictured above)

A really long time ago Infiniti’s QX line of SUV’s were nothing more than re-badged Nissan Pathfinders with posh interiors. Its current incarnation, the QX56, is based on the Nissan Armada and it’s a fine looking vehicle. That makes it all the more surprising that they could screw up the styling. I think it’s safe to say that this thing is mind-bogglingly awful.

2011 Kia Optima

It’s good to see Kia taking a page from the Hyundai school of design and have started to make cars that look good and appeal to everybody.

2011 Scion tC

Contrary to the Koreans, Toyota’s downward spiral has made them play it safe with the new tC, which I think looks really good, with very conservative  styling. It now has a 2.5L I4 producing 180 hp and hooked up to either a 6-speed manual or automatic. We can only hope this one is going to stop.

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX

The WRX is getting a face lift to give it a more aggressive appearance. It looks great, awesome, and has the power to back up the styling.

2011 Scion iQ

This wont work in America. It doesn’t matter if you brand it as a Scion or if you fit it with enough airbags to convert it to a hovercraft, America doesn’t do small and I don’t think anyone wants to drive one of these at 75 mph down the freeway

2011 Nissan Puke Juke (US debut)

Kill it with fire.
