Citroen has announced UK pricing for the DS3 Racing.
The car will start at £23,100, not including Value Added Tax, and sales will begin September 1st. That is a pretty high price, considering that a Renaultsport Clio 200 costs £18,250 with VAT, and the Mini John Cooper Works is about £1,000 less.
However, Citroen has released final production figures to try and convince buyers. The engine will put out 204bhp and 203lb ft of torque, getting the DS3 Racing from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds, and on to a top speed of 146 mph. Citroen claims that the car can clear the standing kilometre in 26.5 seconds.
The Renaultsport will only manage 0 -62 in 6.9 seconds, and a top speed of 141 mph. However, the Mini JCW can do 0-62 just as quickly as the Citroen, and it’ll go on to a top speed of 148 mph, 2 more than the DS3.
Nonetheless, Citroen says they have had more than 1500 inquires about the car through the website alone, and that only 200 of the cars will come to the UK. So the car will more than likely sell out.
