Citroen is said to be working on a sporty, hybrid-powered DS4 (Possibly called the DS4 Racing) to rival the likes of the VW Golf R.
The DS4 Racing will be fitted with the 200 hp turbocharged 1.6L engine co-developed with BMW. This would send power to the front wheels, while a 95 hp electric motor would motivate the rear, giving the car all-wheel-drive.
The hybrid system would likely be based either on Peugeot’s HYbrid4 or the FWD hybrid system BMW and PSA recently agreed to work on together.
Citroen plans to have this car on sale sometime in 2013.
