Chevy Volt-based MPV/crossover could debut in Detroit

An MPV/crossover based on the Chevrolet Volt could be making its debut at the North American International Auto Show in January.

The car is said to be called the Chevy Amp, and GM has even filed for a trademark on the name. While it’s uncertain if it will be a minivan or a crossover, it should have five doors and seat five passengers.

GM has been considering such a variant of the Volt for a while, even launching the Volt MPV5 concept shown above, so if such a thing does indeed happen, we certainly won’t be surprised.
