During a dealership meeting, Chevrolet revealed that the Camaro Z28 will be entering production on January 1st, 2012. However, it was referred to as the HP Edition, so the Z28 nameplate might not be around when it goes on sale.
Chevrolet also let slip a few other interesting tidbits during the dealer meeting. The car will be powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8, likely a unit similar to that of the Corvette ZR1’s. It will also have magnetic ride suspension, an advanced suspension system first seem in the ZR1, 285F/330R tires, and minor updates to the interior.
That’s everything we know for now. An official announcement will likely occur towards the end of the year. We’ll be on the lookout.
