The BMW 7 Series stolen in Detroit during the auto show has been found on the city’s west side.
The car is a dark grey BMW 750i xDrive, stolen on Wednesday by two thieves when the car was set to be loaded onto a transport truck. The truck driver went to the cabin to retrieve something, and then the thieves struck and stole the car.
It was found this morning on the west side of the city, in a gated apartment complex near Telegraph and Glendale Street. Marketing communications manager for BMW of North America, Stacy Morris, says that “the car’s in excellent condition.” The thieves were likely not amateurs, as they managed to disable the BMW Assist tracking system. Tips to the police helped locate the car. An investigation is now ongoing to arrest the thieves.
