Callaway has launched a tuning package for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, transforming the work truck into a potential high-performance machine.

Plans for this truck surfaced back in August last year, and Callaway hoped to have the car ready for SEMA that year. However, they’re clearly way off target, but perhaps this was worth the wait.

The tuner will offer a supercharger kit for both the 5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines. An intercooler, improved fuel injectors, carbon fibre injector covers, a high-flow intake system, and low restriction exhaust are also added, raising power to 450 bhp with the 5.3 and 540 bhp with the 6.2. Despite the enormous power increase, Callaway claims that fuel economy has been completely unaffected, and a 3 year/36,000 mile powertrain warranty is thrown in.

To top off the package, Callaway adds embroidered headrests and floor mats, exterior and interior badging, and some Callaway Silverado key fobs.

However, if that’s not enough for you, there’s an array of optional extras to choose from. These include a chrome supercharger housing, new alloy wheels and BFGoodrich tires, upgraded suspension and brakes, a sport interior package, and a custom-fit truck cover. Moreover, Callaway allows you to extend the warranty to 5 years/100,000 miles, and you can choose to pick the car up from the Callaway factory yourself.

If this package sounds right for you, prepare to set aside $15,995. However, that doesn’t include optional extras. While pricing hasn’t been released for all the extras, we do know that the chrome supercharger housing will cost $1,100, the extended warranty will be $2,900, and the truck cover will cost $579.

However, if you happen to own a Chevy Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, or a Silverado 2500HD, the same package will be offered for those trucks as well, although no images have been released.
