Now that the Buick Regal is official, GM has been telling dealers details about the car.
It will be offered with a 2.4L direct injection inline-4 engine producing 180 hp and a 2.0L engine with turbocharging and direct injection, putting out 220 hp. The most interesting bit of the details GM has been telling dealers is that they say there will eventually be a sport version. It is rumoured to be called the GS model. Reportedly, it will feature the 3.6L direct injected V6 out of the LaCrosse/Allure, which puts out 280hp. It will also come with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and optional AWD. A six-speed manual may be offered. It should be based on the European Opel/Vauxhall Insignia OPC/VXR. If that’s anything to go by, this should be pretty good.
