With the nominees being posted a few hours ago on the blog, it is finally time to reveal the 2010 Green Car of the Year.
The boffins have been busy at work and as a surprise result, the best eco-friendly car this year is… the Audi A3 TDI.
Yes, the jury has decided that this family hatchback is fun to drive as well as environmentally friendly. It is nice to see a diesel and not a hybrid win, as most hybrids are not as economical as people think. It’s also encouraging to see the boffins consider driving pleasure as part of the prize. This is actually quite a good car, I’m surprised because they usually get it wrong but now it seems they’ve cracked it. It looks nice, it drives well and it does 42 mpg. So there you have it, the Audi A3 TDI: 2010 Green Car of the Year.
