Nissan recalling Frontier due to child seat tether anchor non-compliance

Nissan is recalling the Frontier due to the child seat tether anchors not complying to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 225.

The weld between the tether anchor and the seat gusset bracket is out of specification. This could result in the tether anchor separating from the seat in the event of a crash.

Nissan will be fixing this by replacing the anchors with new ones. 951 Frontiers produced from June 10, 2010, to June 26, 2010 are affected. The recall will begin by September 1st, possibly earlier. If you own an affected Frontier, refrain from placing a child seat in the car until the fix has been installed.
