Acura LMP2 car may appear at 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans

Despite a great year in the ALMS, Fernandez Racing and their Acura ARX-01b LMP2 car may not be back next year. They are having issues securing a major sponsor.

This has led to England-based Strakka Racing making plans to purchase the car and compete with it in the European Le Mans Series, including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The deal hasn’t been finalized, but Strakka has already informed the LMS of their intentions and signed a contract with British driver Danny Watts, who previously drove a Panoz Esperante GT-LM in the series. Strakka previously raced a Ginetta-Zytek in the LMP1 class of the LMS. It placed 21st at the last 24 Hours of Le Mans.
