Panoz abandons plans for LMP1 racer in favour of Esperante successor

Panoz had plans to make a revolutionary front engined LMP1 design for the ALMS series, but now they’ve decided to instead work on a successor to the Esperante.

It will start as a road car and then be made into a race car for the GT2 class of ALMS. They plan to have the racing version out on the track sometime next ALMS season. It will be ran by Tom Milner’s Prototype Technology Group, the official Panoz team in the ALMS.
