2010 European Car of the Year Announced

The European Car of the Year jury have announced their 2010 Car of the Year: the Volkswagen Polo.

This is the first Volkswagen to receive this award since 1992, when the Golf received the award. It was only 10 points ahead of the Toyota iQ, which placed second.

Here is a full list of how the nominees scored. You’ll notice quite a huge gap between the top 2 and the rest.

1. VW Polo(347)

2. Toyota iQ(337)

3. Opel Astra(221)

4. Skoda Yeti(158)

5. Mercedes E-class(155)

6. Peugeot 3008(144)

7. Citroën C3 Picasso(113)

I quite like the Polo, and I reckon it deserved it. Good job Volkswagen!
