Buick has announced that there will be a four-cylinder model of the entry-level Buick LaCrosse CX.
It will be a 2.4L engine with 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. This engine is already used in the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain. With this engine, the car will get 30mpg on the highway and 20mpg in the city. These figures aren’t official though, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) still has to confirm them.
The engine will be matched with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing starts at $26,995, including delivery, which is $840 less than the V6 equipped model. The car will be on dealer floors sometime in the first quarter of 2010.
