The plea for more diesel cars in North America

Fuel-efficient hoonage is a future I can agree with!

From the few Europeans that I’ve met, it seems that everyone and their mother has at some point owned a diesel automobile on the other side of the pond. Here in North America, however, we appear to have some sort of dieselphobia, with very little diesel cars on offer at all up until recently. But there are some very good reasons for us to shake that fear and demand more diesels from the manufacturers.

Happy Thanksgiving to any American readers!

Now that’s something American to be thankful for!

I’d just like to wish any readers from the US a Happy Thanksgiving today! What cars are you thankful for this year?

There are now more female than male drivers in the US

…although most of them probably aren’t Nurburgring masters.

Traditionally, driving has been regarded as a masculine activity. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good female driver, but that’s just the way things have been. It seems, however, that the tide may be turning. A study done by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute suggests that for the first time in history, there are more licensed female drivers than male drivers in the United States.

Mazda reveals facelifted Roadster/MX-5 Miata

The third-generation Mazda MX-5 is now seven years old. That’s very nearly a lifetime in the automotive industry. It went through a facelift four years ago, and is due for replacement in the near future. But while we wait for that replacement, Mazda has seen fit to facelift it one more time for 2013.
