After writing about the need for more diesel cars in North America yesterday, that got me thinking: what are some other cars we miss out on, that we really ought to have a crack at? So I decided to put together a list of five cars that automakers should really send over to us.






The third-generation Mazda MX-5 is now seven years old. That’s very nearly a lifetime in the automotive industry. It went through a facelift four years ago, and is due for replacement in the near future. But while we wait for that replacement, Mazda has seen fit to facelift it one more time for 2013.
As is the norm in the world of supercars, McLaren has dropped the top on the MP4-12C with the Spider variant. But unlike most convertibles, the MP4-12C has retained most of the speed and rigidity of its hardtop counterpart.
If there are ever any complaints about the nimble Mazda MX-5, they usually relate to a lack of power. But Mazda might just be willing to fix that, as they’re bringing the more powerful MX-5 GT Concept to Goodwood in search of customer feedback.
