Ford Focus ST to be axed due to Euro-5 emissions standards

The Ford Focus ST is being discontinued due to its noncompliance with Euro-5 emissions standards.

The ST is the latest in an array of cars discontinued due to these standards, including the Mazda RX-8, the 3.2L V6 variant of the Alfa Romeo Brera, the Honda Civic Type R, and all vehicles equipped with Volkswagen Group’s 5.0L V10 turbodiesel.

However, Autocar reports that a four-cylinder successor to the ST is due at the Paris Motor Show in October. Let’s hope that’s just as good as this one.
