Mansell set to race at Le Mans 24 Hours

Former Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell plans to race at this year’s most famous endurance race – the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Having raced last year in the Le Mans Series with his son, the Brit admitted he wants to race at this year’s 24 hours of Le Mans as he recently purchased a stake in the Beechdean Motorsport sports car team. Not only did he acquire a share in the team but he renamed it as Beechdean Mansell Motorsport. The former F1 champion will race at the top class – LMP1 with a Ginetta-Zytek Z09R. He will be racing with both of his sons: Greg and Leo.

“I’m very excited about 2010 and the prospect of racing with both of my sons for the first time. I can confirm that I will be racing with Leo and Greg during the season and, if we receive an entry, we will also be racing at Le Mans”, the Brit said.
